Jess had never fully trusted her mother-in-law, Debbie. There was always something off about her—sharp words hidden behind sweet smiles, and a coldness that Jess couldn’t shake. 


So, when Debbie surprised her with an expensive pair of designer shoes, Jess immediately felt suspicious. Why such an extravagant gift? Despite her doubts, her husband Arthur encouraged her to wear the shoes on her upcoming business trip. “It’ll make her happy,” he said, unaware of the unease Jess felt.


Reluctantly, she decided to go along with it.At the airport, Jess went through TSA as usual, but this time, there was an unexpected hold-up. 


A TSA agent found a hidden compartment inside one of the shoes, containing a small packet of dried herbs. At first, Jess thought it was just some sort of odd coincidence. But when she had the herbs tested later, the results shocked her. The herbs were used in folk magic, specifically rituals meant to sever relationships.Horrified, Jess realized that Debbie hadn’t tried to frame her—she had tried to curse her. 


Devastated, Jess told Arthur, who was equally shocked but resolved. He immediately called his mother, demanding that she confess and apologize. He made it clear that until she did, she wasn’t welcome in their lives. The shoes stayed tucked in their closet, a silent reminder that even a seemingly innocent gift could carry dark and dangerous intentions.
